Our Founder, Liz Shaw, was invited to Okinawa by Okinawa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. last week to speak on Lupus- read below for her insight on this amazing opportunity:

It was an Invitation from out of space that you never dreamed of getting. When I wrote LIVING WITH THE WOLF and Surviving Lupus, I never thought I would be invited to come halfway around the world to talk about it. The invitation came and I accepted it.

The President of a chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in Okinawa, Japan found “LIVING WITH THE WOLF” on the internet and communicated with some of her Sorors in the Los Angeles area about getting a mixture of Authors to speak at their Hattitude Luncheon during the Premier Literary Weekend held October 8th, 9th and 10th.

Of course, a Hattitude Luncheon is a parade of ladies wearing beautiful, exotic, eye popping hats while eating delectable, delightful foods.

I, Liz Shaw-Stabler was chosen as one of the authors. The whirlwind trip was challenging and exciting. Challenging because of the sixteen hour flight, exciting because of the desire to educate all people, especially women, who suffer with the debilitating disease Lupus; and all stakeholders who agree that a cure must be found.

Every woman, whether she suffers with lupus or some other form of autoimmune disease, or just to be educated about communicating with your doctors, should own a copy of LIVING WITH THE WOLF.
